Unhappy with our new president? Still in a state of shock-and-awe over his win? Disgusted by the American public for voting such a loud-mouthed, vulgar, racists, misogynistic man into office? Well then you might want to reevaluate your Netflix playlist as there’s a ton of A-list Hollywood celebs that are tried and true Republicans, and huge Donald Trump supporters. While the like of George Clooney, Angelina Jolie, Matt Damon, and Oprah Winfrey have made their allegiance to the Democratic party more than known – many of Trump supporters are not so vocal. This is in part, because unlike Democrats who throw huge fundraisers, Republicans are typically more publicly reserved. Nonetheless, some of your favorite action, rom-com, and pop-stars are aligned with Trump’s ideas and beliefs. So before you fork over your hard earned money at the movie theatre, you may want to check this list to see exactly who you’re supporting.
Back in 1998, Bruce was a big supporter of Democratic candidate Michael Dukakis. Since then he’s been leaning more left, as his views have become more conservative – especially that of the right to bear arms. After Dukakis, Bruce has been supporting every Republican candidate ever since.
The following Kim Kardashian statement about her father (err, new mother), as published by Hollowverse, sums it all up: “My household is really split up. The parents are Republicans and the children are Democrats. So, it’s like a political warfare in our household when we talk about politics.”
Supporting multiple causes, such as childhood cancer, fighting hunger, and very “liberal” causes like environmentalism – Lauren Conrad has been seen applauding members of the Republican party (while scoffing at Democratic ones) during her attendance at a White House correspondence dinner back in 2008.
While Christian Bale is very quiet about his political affiliation, he was publicly seen at proud Republican and NRA member Charlton Heston’s funeral. There’s also a handful of articles on Hallowverse that site that the Batman actor is definitely Republican.
Robert Downey Jr.
Here’s Iron man speaking to the New York Times about his support for the Republican party: “I have a really interesting political point of view, and it’s not always something I say too loud at dinner tables here, but you can’t go from a $2,000-a-night suite at La Mirage to a penitentiary and really understand it and come out a liberal. You can’t. I wouldn’t wish that experience on anyone else, but it was very, very, very educational for me and has informed my proclivities and politics every since.”
Known best for a long string of horrible movies, apparently Adam Sandler’s political views are just as bad. He’s made his allegiance to the Republican party clear when he donated $2,100 to Rudy Giuliani’s presidential campaign.
Country sweetheart Carrie Underwood is surprisingly registered as Republican. Although, she says she “loses respect” for anyone that openly endorses any candidate. So we’re not sure what to make of that.
Politicalinsider.com has reported that all-pro QB Payton Manning has been donating $14,000 to the Republican party ever since 2004 – $2000 of which was made out to president Bush’s reelection campaign.
Both Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn claim to be Republican. They even tried to attend the DC Young Republican conference back in 2004 while in the midst of filming Wedding Crashers. However, they were not let in as coordinators were dubious of Vince’s real intentions and affiliation.
Back in 2008, Lindsay was a very outspoken Obama supporter, but switched sides back in 2012 when she showed support for Romney.
James Earl Jones
Why doesn’t it surprise us that the voice of Darth Vader would support the most evil candidate in US history in Donald Trump. James has been very outspoken against the Obama administration and has very publicly declared his steadfastness to his leftist views.
Definitely no shocker here, strict Catholic, bible-thumping, Jew hating Hollywood leading man, Mel Gibson is extremely and very publicly conservative in his views. Oh, let us not forget to mention his strong stance against abortion and gay marriage.
